Environmental considerations

  • Promote capsule recycling

BANDAI Namco Group launched the "GASHAPON Capsule Recycling" initiative in 2021.

    RECYCLING CAPSULE

We repurpose the refurbished capsules from our stores, use the materials to create new capsules, and then reintroduce them to the market.

*Collection results for FY2024: Approximately 47 tons

    From January 2025
    Increased use of recycled materials!

    40%

Empty capsule collection boxes are installed at "GASHAPON BANDAI OFFICIAL SHOPs" in Japan.

  • Efforts to reduce plastic use

BANDAI Namco Group has developed the first environmentally friendly capsule in the capsule toy industry's history to contain calcium carbonate. Compared to conventional capsules, plastic usage is about half that of conventional capsules.

Furthermore, we are working to reduce plastic waste by eliminating capsules altogether, such as by creating figures where the capsule is part of the figure itself or one that can be used as a base.

It comes out without a capsule.
The capsule becomes part of the figure!
The capsule itself becomes the case!
    The capsule transforms!

For people and society

  • Commitment to safety and quality control

BANDAI has established about 260 unique quality standards divided into three categories: "Safety," "Performance," and "Labeling," in addition to the Toy Safety Standard (ST), which is the Japanese toy industry standard, and we create products based on these standards. Furthermore, as our products expand globally, we have established about 200 unique quality standards in addition to the toy standards required in each region, establishing a system to deliver safe and reliable products to overseas customers.
